We invited David Schwarz to present his story to our students’. David’s lived experience captured the students’ attention; they actively listened and their facial expressions at key moments of his talk showed they took in the information as David covered some very low points in his life as a direct result of his gambling. The high volume of student questions that followed showed they retained information and developed a deeper understanding of the social problems and consequences associated with gambling.
